Litter pickers pulled on their gardening gloves to give their village a spring clean.
About a dozen people attended the litter-pick at Woodcock Hill yesterday, each filling a bag of rubbish from the area.
A number of larger items were taken to Byron for later collection.
Mayor Councillor Pat Strack said they were lucky that a number of residents pick up other people’s litter from the area every day.
Conservative MEP Geoffrey Vanorden and Councillor Tom Hunt also attended the clean-up as part of a day of campaigning in Borehamwood. They later took to Shenley Road with Councillor Clive Butchins to hand out leaflets and canvass for votes.
