Residents are invited to find out how decisions about health services are made by attending an NHS board meeting next week.

Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group Board (CCG) is responsible for planning and purchasing local health services on behalf of Hertsmere residents.

The CCG holds several Board public meetings during the year, which give people the chance to observe and ask questions about services in their area.

Dr Nicolas Small, chairman of Herts Valleys CCG, said: "We welcome observers at our Board meetings and find that people are interested to listen to the discussions that take place before decisions are reached. It is really important that Herts Valleys CCG is open and honest about our commissioning decisions and holding our meetings in public is one way of doing this.

“We hope that attending a board meeting in public may encourage more local people to get more involved with us.

The next meeting will be held at 1.30pm on Thursday, May 8 at The Niland Centre, Rosary Priory, 93 Elstree Road, Watford.
