A 27-year-old man remains in a serious condition following a targeted attack at Tesco in Borehamwood.

The incident took place outside the supermarket in Shenley Road at 5.53pm yesterday.

Detective Sergeant Dave Smith from the Hertsmere Local Crime Unit said: “The man is in hospital where his condition remains serious but stable. We are appealing for any witnesses to the assault to come forward so we can establish exactly what happened.

“We are keeping an open mind about the motive for the assault and how he received his injuries, but are trying to trace two men known to the victim.”

Police request that anyone who saw the assault, knows who may be responsible or who has other information contact police quoting reference 524 of April 28 on the non-emergency number 101.

The Borehamwood and Elstree Neighbourhood Team will be outside Tesco between 4pm and 7pm this evening if members of the public wish to speak to them.
