Elstree digital agency Cyber-Duck has kicked off their first after-school coding club.

Ten children from Shenley Primary School visited their offices on Thursday, April 24 to learn the basics of web development and coding.

The programme has been organised as part of the national Code Club, a network of free after-school programming and web development clubs aimed at children between nine and 11.

Danny Bluestone, managing director of Cyber-Duck, said: “Using the ideas from the Code Club initiative, we have found an opportunity to give local children an insight into the digital industry, by inviting them to see the work place in action.

“We have hosted and provided mentors for the Young Rewired State’s (YRS) ‘Festival of Code’, and introduced secondary-aged pupils to the digital industry through the BIMA D-Day initiative, and are delighted to be taking an active part in Code Club”.

The club will continue to be held weekly at Shenley Primary School.
