A community centre will be spruced up with money allocated by councillors.
The Big Local Community Shop, in Leeming Road, Borehamwood has received £700 from Hertsmere Borough Council’s ward improvement initiative scheme.
Councillors Ann Harrison, Ernie Butler and Di Hoeksma, who represent Cowley Hill, and Richard Butler, who represents Kenilworth, contributed to the grant.
Run by Community Action Hertsmere, the shop provides free internet access, CV help and a support service for domestic abuse victims.
The TimeBank is also run from the shop.
