Shoppers had their blood pressure tested for free as part of an event aimed at raising stroke awareness.

Borehamwood & Elstree Rotary Club organised a the testing session at 96 Shenley Road, to ensure people are not at risk of a stroke.

Out of the 80 people who had the tests, two were referred to their doctor for further investigations.

The event was part of Stroke Awareness Day.

Rotarian David Clout said: “We met people who are now living with controlled blood pressure as a result of a previous meeting with us at an earlier Stroke Awareness Day but we also met people who were unaware of the danger of a stroke because their blood pressure is not under control.”
