Churches in Radlett will hold several events to celebrate Holy Week in the build-up to Easter.

Christ washing the feet of his friends will be re-enacted at St John’s in Gills Hill Lane on Maundy Thursday (April 17) at 8pm.

On Good Friday, April 18, the churches will come together for a united act of witness. People who wish to attend should meet at the War Memorial in Watling Street at 11am.

At 12pm there will be the traditional three hours devotion in Christ Church in Radlett.

On Easter Sunday, April 20, there will be communion services at Christ Church at 8am, 9.15am and 11am, and at St John’s at 9.45am.

Team rector Reverend Javaid Iqbal said: "Holy Week is a very special time in the Christian calendar; churches welcome those who do not always manage to get to church on Sunday mornings.

"There is not the distraction of shopping on Easter morning, so we look forward to welcoming all to one of our services."
