Planning officers have rejected an appeal to bulldoze a house and replaced it with a larger home.
Hertsmere Borough Council dismissed the application to build a five-bedroom home with basement car parking at Newberries Avenue because it would be “out of character with surroundings”.
The appeal was lodged by developer Michael Smyth.
Earlier this year, council officers approved a decision to build a five bedroom home in the same road - despite objections relating to the bulk of the properties.
