A 22-strong combined choir from St Martin's Church in Shenley and Radlett and Bushey Reform Synagogue recently performed in Radlett with songs from both Jewish and Christian traditions.

Members of the church choir took time to learn some Hebrew and both choirs enjoyed singing pieces ranging from those composed in the mid-1800s to those that had only been created in the last couple of years.

The concert was hosted by the Radlett Council for Christians and Jews (CCJ) and is a regular fixture in its calendar.

Rabbi Paul Freedman said: "The CCJ was established in the 1940s to promote religious and cultural understanding, to work for the elimination of discrimination and to promote religious and racial harmony.

"Events such as this concert help cement the good relations we share with our Christian neighbours."
