Older people enjoyed a “taste of Sunrise” at a residential care home.

Sunrise Senior Living of Elstree invited older people looking to make a move into residential care to visit the home on Thursday March 13.

Guests enjoyed a lunch, sampling the menu choices that are on offer as part of the home’s Taste of Sunrise campaign, which aims to highlight the importance of nutritious food for older people.

The visitors also got the chance to take part in the wide range of activities on offer at Sunrise, including keep-fit activities.

To make the day even more special, two residents at Sunrise also celebrated their birthdays.
Alan and Morris both received a cake baked by Sunrise’s chefs.

Julie Woolf, director of community relations at Sunrise of Elstree, said: “We all had a wonderful day. It was a great opportunity to celebrate the Taste of Sunrise and a chance to educate people about the need for a nutritious diet as you grow older.

“Dining for a lot of our residents is the focal part of the day and it is important that what they are served gives them something to look forward to.”
