A young singer from Borehamwood has received recognition for his talented performances in two West End musicals.

Ilan Galkoff, who performed in Les Miserables and Oliver, came runner-up in the Young Singer of the Year category at the Emunah Awards yesterday (Sunday).

The ten-year-old received his runners-up price from Mitch Winehouse, father of the late singer Amy Winehouse, at an awards ceremony in front of 350 in central London.

The national competition, in its fourth year, is run by Jewish charity Emunah, which helps disadvantaged children and young people in Israel.
