People at risk of isolation from the community around them met the folks next door over afternoon tea.
Community Action Hertsmere held a ‘Meet your Neighbour’ event yesterday at Windsor Community Hall in Blythe Close, Borehamwood.
People over the age of 50 enjoyed scones, jam and tea courtesy of jam maker Superjam.
The event was organised by Jennifer Reefe, who works at the Community Shop in Leeming Road.
She said: “This event came about as a result of a group of over 50s who meet every Wednesday at the community shop as they want to be part of the local community and meet their neighbours.
“We hope to have many more of these events during the year.”
