People who feel isolated from the community around them are being invited to meet the folks next door.
Community Action Hertsmere is holding a ‘Meet your Neighbour’ event on March 3 at Windsor Community Hall in Blythe Close, Borehamwood.
People over the age of 50 will be able to get to know each other over afternoon tea at the event, which runs from 12pm until 3.30pm.
The event is being organised by Jennifer Reefe, who works at the Community Shop in Leeming Road.
She said: “This event has come about as a result of a group of over 50s who meet every Wednesday at the Community Shop as they want to be part of the local community and meet their neighbours.
“Is it is a chance for people to get to know each other in an informal setting.”
