A hairdressers will be giving itself a pink rinse to raise awareness of breast cancer.

Staff at Cropz in Manor Way in Borehamwood will be decorating the shop and wearing pink next Friday to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.

The salon will also be offering half price hair and beauty treatment, reiki healing and tarot card readings to entice customers in during the fundraising day.

Susan Ford Brady, who works at the shop, said: “The salon’s owner Faribaa Amini has lost a close friend to breast cancer, and a couple of my friends have had the disease, although thankfully they have recovered.

“We wanted to do our bit to raise awareness and money for the charity to prevent others suffering in the way our friends have done.”

Mrs Ford Brady, who is a qualified reiki teacher, said the energy healing process was an excellent way of soothing and relaxing cancer sufferers when they were feeling "low” because of the disease.

She added: “We want to raise as much money as we can and we’re hoping to make this a regular thing if it is successful.”
