Six new jobs were created in Borehamwood when a new branch of a garage chain opened in the town.
MP for Hertsmere James Clappison cut the ribbon at the new Halfords Autocentre in Elstree Way in Borehamwood on Friday.
The centre, which will carry out MOTs, car servicing, tyre checks and repairs, has already contributed £15,000 to the local economy.
It is expected to contribute a further £15,000 by buying goods from local suppliers.
Mr Clappison said: “It is an honour to open the new Halfords Autocentre in Borehamwood.
"It is extremely encouraging to see a new business opening and providing local jobs and a welcome boost to the economy. I would like to take this opportunity to wish them the very best of luck for the future.”
