Two men have been charged with intent to supply drugs after police seized £25,000 worth of heroin.

Mohammed Uddin, 31, of Notting Hill and Miled Miah, 29, of Bethnal Green, were arrested by police in Borehamwood on Tuesday.

A red Fiat Punto was spotted by an automatic number plate recognition unit at around 8.30am near the South Mimms roundabout.

The car was followed and stopped on the A1, when it was searched by dogs from the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Dog Unit.

Dogs found a package, believed to contain Class A drugs, in the fuse box console, and £2,500 in cash was seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

The two men have been remanded in custody and will appear in St Albans Crown Court February 26.
