A teenager has been banned from driving after he allowed a younger boy without a licence or insurance to ride his motorbike.
Appearing at Hertford Magistrates Court, Tomer Yungerman, 18, was given six points on his licence, on top of the six he already had, for allowing the 15-year-old to endanger other people in Potterswood Park in Borehamwood.
He was also fined £550.
PCSO Marie Harvey, who investigated the incident, said it had been “amazing” no one had been injured.
“Young children were playing and people were walking their dogs. The 15-year-old also had no licence or insurance. The consequences could have been very serious.
“I hope this serves as a reminder to young people to make sure they ride their bikes safely and away from other park users and not allow anyone to use their bikes.
“I hope it shows residents, who often complain about illegal and inconsiderate bike riders, that we are actively doing something to stop this from happening and taking the issue seriously.”
