A council is eager to discover the views of members of the public on a development that will change the face of Borehamwood.

Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council will be holding a meeting at the Ark Theatre in Borehamwood next Monday to discuss Hertsmere Borough Council’s Elstree Way Corridor Area Action Plan.

A new draft of the plan for more than 800 houses and associated infrastructure has been drawn up following public meetings last year and Hertsmere Council is consulting residents on it.

The town council is holding the meeting, which will start at 7.30pm, to provide council tax payers with an opportunity to hear the facts and make up their own minds.

This will be a pilot and, if successful, the town council is hoping to create a Town Planning Forum, like the Town Transport Forum, that will meet a couple of times a year and will be an arena for members of the public to discuss new develpments.

I live in a moldy old flat but I bet when they build all these new properties people like me wont be thought of! There will be no help for existing tenants just new ones! How about they have less houses and flats, build a school or a new pub/bowling ally or some new shops/work places? what about helping the community they already have instead of bringing in more new people and forgetting about us!

More housing is needed for all our new friends from central & eastern Europe.

The politicians have no interest in helping the community they already have until election time. All they are really interested in is cheap labour and the greater enhancement of the EUSSR.
