A funeral directors is bringing dignity to people in Africa by giving them the tools they need to earn a living.
Tamsin Colliver, who works at Phillips Funeral Services in Shenley Road in Borehamwood, is collecting old tools to donate to the Workaid charity.
The charity tackles poverty by collecting equipment from hacksaws to knitting machines to give to people in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia.
Any tools donated to Phillips Funeral Services will be refurbished by volunteers and then sent to vocational training projects in Africa.
Ms Colliver said: “When I heard about the charity I thought it was great way to help people to help themselves.
"If anyone is having a clearout of unwanted tools please can they bring them to our funeral home at 52 Shenley Road where we will put them to good use.”
