A trial for full-time traffic signals at a “death trap” roundabout will be extended for another four months.

The lights at the Stirling Corner junction were turned on permanently last May after Transport for London (TfL) agreed to three to six month trial period.

The transport body had been reluctant to switch their hours of operation from 3.30pm to 5.30pm - but, after a spate of serious accidents in the area, campaigners won their battle.

TfL has now announced the trial will be extended until May to obtain data for an entire year, in order to take seasonal variation into account.
