Time is running out for budding young filmmakers to submit their masterpieces to Borehamwood’s answer to the Oscars.
The Short Film Awards, which will be held at the Ark Theatre on January 25, are still seeking entries from people aged 12 to 25.
The films should be between two and ten minutes long and can be made on a smart phone, iPad, web cam or video camera.
The awards are being hosted by chairman of Elstree Studios and leader of Hertsmere Borough Council, Councillor Morris Bright, film historian Paul Welsh Film Historian, editor of the Tried and Trusted magazine David Burcombe and chief executive of The Way Forward productions Jason Cook.
There will be music from local bands and singers during the evening.
The event is being sponsored by 15 local businesses and a raffle will be run by Elstree and Borehamwood Rotary Club, with all proceeds going to Borehamwood Foodbank.
Tickets cost £7 and any profits will be donated to charity.
