People who have mobility problems will not be trapped in their homes thanks to a donation from a county counclilor.
Hertfordshire County Councillor for Borehamwood North Leon Reefe has allocated £750 from his locality budget to Hertsmere Community Transport to maintain their vehicles.
The organisation, which provides accessible, affordable door-to-door transport for people with mobility problems, enables its users to access healthcare and join in with community events.
Cllr Reefe said: “Keeping an organisation like Hertsmere Community Transport on the road is a necessary requirement.
“I am glad to be of some help in this way as they carry out a tremendous service, particularly in Borehamwood.”
A total of £10,000 is available to each of the 77 members of Hertfordshire County Council to spend on worthwhile community projects in their area.
