A young football fan met her heroes when she was chosen as Arsenal’s mascot ahead of their most recent victory.
Eve Lewis, who lives in Elstree, was picked at random from 30,000 young Arsenal fans to be the Gunners’ mascot for their 2-0 win over Cardiff on New Year’s Day.
Eve walked out onto the pitch for kick-off at Emirates Stadium and met her heroes ahead of the game, including Arsenal and England duo Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere.
Eve was delighted to have been selected for the match.
She said: “It was brilliant to have been chosen to be the mascot and to walk the team out onto the pitch at the Emirates. I got to meet loads of players, and we won the game so the whole experience was great.”
Mr Walcott said he had enjoyed the opportunity to meet a young fan.
He said: “It was good to meet Eve ahead of our game with Cardiff. She was such a very passionate young supporter, and it was nice to show her how things work behind the scenes on a matchday.”
