Homes to be built on old playground in Borehamwood

Plans to build two new homes on the site of a playground have been submitted.

The new homes are due to be built on the site of the former playground in Hackney Close, Borehamwood, and proposals have been submitted by Hertsmere Borough Council.

The council hopes to build two two-bedroom houses on the land and has submitted plans to its planning department.

In a design and access statement on the council planning website, the council says the proposals will make good use of otherwise redundant land.

The site has been derelict for a number of years following the authority’s decision to close it and provide better play areas elsewhere.

It said: “The proposed house follows a traditional design, with complementary materials, that will enhance the existing streetscape.

“At the forefront of the scheme, we have considered the needs of the local community who need high quality, affordable and sustainable housing.”

It goes on to say it has “taken great care with the style, choice of materials” to ensure the plans are in keeping with the surrounding area.

The disparaging comments from 'SINNED' in an effort to sully my reputation within the community are most revealing and were drawn to my attention by others who have now developed a latter day an interest in my historical demise within the local Labour Party which I feel compelled to address.
The comments by ' SINNED' may reveal that as a former member of the Three Ways Community Association, he or she may even have appeared before the General Management Committee (GMC) when I was the Chairmen and was either cautioned or suspended from membership?
Either way I would contend this historical hangup is of no interest to anybody but 'SINNED' which in the circumstances may be the quite the most appropriate pseudonym?
However, the comments made that I am no longer a friend of the Labour Party remain more than accurate.
I became a member of the Labour Party in 1962 when most of those who engineered the Star Chamber that sat silent judgement of me were either still at school or had not even been conceived?
This Star Chamber on behalf of the local Labour Part that would have been a credit to the Soviet Union during the Stalin purges, produced no evidence of wrongdoing on my behalf or any witnesses to testify against me of failing in duty as a Labour Councillor, then proceeded to de-select me as the candidate to stand again in Kenilworth Ward, the seat I had held for nearly twenty five years.
I was given no reason or explanation for this de-selection which was conducted in private behind closed doors in the Star Chamber, following my attendance to answer questions, none of which had any relevance to my function as an elected member.
On the recommendations of the local Labour Party the General Secretary, Peter Watt refused even to allow me to appeal against this shameful kangaroo court judicial process?
Only the fact our daughter Claire was MP for Watford and a Minister of the Crown in the last Labour Govrnment deterred me from giving the full story of this injustice to the national press and exposing the Party which claims to oppose discrimination and victimisation.
Even to this day the reason for my de-selection is known only to the members of the Star Chamber and their co-conspirators?
Within five days of me resigning from the Labour Party after a membership of forty five years I received an invitation from Nigel Farage to meet him for a drink and to consider joining UKIP.
This invitation I declined, again because my daughter may be embarrassed and also I wanted to continuing believing like everybody else that a Labour Government would not betray the best interests of the people of this country in favour of the EU?
We are now all aware of the truth, followed by a similar act of betrayal by the present Conservative Government.
That is why my wife and I joined UKIP seven weeks ago. UKIP is a Party not desperate to recruit me as suggested by SINNED, but determined that those within the ranks like me are determined not to allow this country and its people to be betrayed to the EU without a fight.
The Conservative Government and its bag carriers, the Liberal Democrats including the would be hopefuls to succeed them, the Labour Party have lost touch with the realities confronting ordinary people within their respective communities which are being threatened with even further inundation of immigrants from EU member states, the impact of which is now common knowledge?

What's all that about - has nothing to do with new houses being built on an old playground. If you have an axe to grind - go grind it in the right place
