A business in Borehamwood has helped to fill shoeboxes with treats for needy and vulnerable children across Europe and Africa this Christmas.

Workplace provider Regus in Maxwell Road, Borehamwood, has given a helping hand to national charity Samaritan’s Purse in its campaign.

The charity has sent thousands of boxes packed with presents for underprivileged children in the poorest parts of Africa and Europe.

Nationally, Regus has collected 5,000 shoeboxes filled with gifts.

Simon Barrington, executive director of Samaritan’s Purse, said: “The Regus network of local workplace centres was ideally positioned to support us with the appeal.

"We would like to thank Regus and all the members of the public who wrapped, packed and brought in their shoeboxes. Thanks to them, many thousands of children who otherwise wouldn’t have received any presents this Christmas knew they weren’t forgotten.”

John Spencer, CEO of Regus in the UK, said: “We are delighted to have been involved in the appeal and the response has been fantastic. Our centre teams thoroughly enjoyed their participation and were very happy to help this worthwhile cause.”
