Children stepped into costume and went back to the Victorian era for an activity weekend at their school.
Pupils from Edge Grove, in Aldenham Village, spent a Charles Dickens themed weekend at their boarding house.
They searched for answers to an Oliver Twist and A Christmas Carol themed treasure hunt, and even teachers stepped into character.
Afterwards, they enjoyed a traditional Victorian pie before watching a Muppet Christmas Carol with popcorn and sweets.
The following morning a hearty breakfast followed by a carousel of activities including peppermint chocolate making and sumo wrestling.
