Boreham Wood FC has been fined by the Football Association following their ill-tempered FA Cup tie against Carlisle United.

Ugly scenes erupted on the pitch when players from both teams came together following Carlisle's last-gasp winner to secure 2-1 victory in the first round of the competition.

Both teams were subsequently reported to the FA for the mass confrontation on November 19, and have have been found guilty of breaching rule E20(a) - failure to ensure that players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour.

Non-league side Boreham Wood has been handed a £400 fine, while Carlisle, who play in League One, was given a £2,500 penalty, reflecting their position higher up the football league.

However, the FA has not taken action against Boreham Wood over allegations from Carlisle that the away team dressing room at Brunton Park was damaged, with claims that urine was found on the floor after the match. Carlisle also claimed Wood players placed a teapot in a urinal but Boreham Wood denied the allegations and claimed this was done after its players and officials had left the stadium.

Boreham Wood heavily denied the claims and threatened legal action against Carlisle.
