Two football clubs have been fined by the FA after ugly scenes erupted on the pitch.

Boreham Wood FC was fined £400 and Carlisle FC £2,500 after a confrontation following Carlisle’s 2-1 victory on November 19.

Both clubs were found to be in breach of FA Rule E20 (a), with the authority ruling that they “failed to ensure players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion or refrained from provocative behaviour”.

Both clubs were seen as equally culpable, but Boreham Wood’s status lower down the football pyramid meant it received a smaller fine.
