Guy Fawkes night at Meadow Park in Borehamwood
The skies over Borehamwood will be ablaze with light as the town celebrates its annual fireworks display.
The free event, which takes place in Meadow Park on Tuesday November 5, will be one of the largest in Hertfordshire.
Catherine wheels will mingle with flying saucers as music from science fiction films accompanies the display.
Organised by Elstree and Borehamwood town council, the event, which starts at 7pm, has been attracting hundreds of people from all over the area for more than 20 years.
And to mark the occasion, groups of children aged ten to 16 who live or go to school in Elstree or Borehamwood can enter the traditional Penny for the Guy competition.
Town Council Mayor Cllr Clive Butchins, will be judging the guy competition – with the winner receiving a £100 cash prize and their picture in Town Crier magazine.
To enter the competition, fill out an application form.
People are advised to use public transport or come on foot to avoid traffic congestion.
