Council grant for Hertfordshire Charity for Deprived Children in Potters Bar and Shenley
A charity supporting deprived children in Potters Bar and Shenley has been handed a council grant.
The Hertfordshire Charity for Deprived Children, which provides grants for various needs including beds and school uniforms, was given £500 from Hertfordshire county councillor Morris Bright.
The Conservative member for Potters Bar and Shenley allocated the cash from his locality budget, under which councillors are given £10,000 every year to hand out to community groups and organisations.
Cllr Bright said: “This very worthwhile charity awards small grants to the most disadvantaged children living in my division who are most in need and who are facing difficulties that compromise their well-being and self-worth. I am happy to be able to support them.”
