Borehamwood joins in world's biggest coffee morning
Borehamwood is taking part in the “biggest coffee morning in the world” today.
Elstree Studios in Shenley Road is joining thousands of organisations across the country in hosting a Macmillan coffee morning.
The event will be held in the main bar from 10.30am until 12pm.
Organiser Lee Keston hopes to get as many people involved as possible to raise money for the good cause.
He said: “The studios are very full and there are a lot of production companies on site at the moment.
"This is a nice opportunity to do something different and get the studio community together for a good cause.”
"The bar is serving coffee and has been getting as many people as possible to make cakes to sell."
Metrobank in Theobald Street is also hosting a coffee morning with the support of Borehamwood's Rotary Club.
Tea and coffee will be served at the bank, in the Boulevard shopping centre, and there will also be a raffle with proceeds going to Macmillan.
This is the third time the Rotary Club and Metrobank have teamed up to host the coffee morning, which is expected to raise up to £500.
Rotary club member David Clout said: “It is always good to raise awareness for such a good cause, so I am really looking forward to the event.
“We hope people in the town will call by, have a cup of coffee, make a donation and buy some raffle tickets to support Macmillan Cancer Care, which provides help to cancer sufferers.”
The event will run from 10am until 1pm.
