Mayor of Hertsmere Paul Morris reopens Beaumont's Gym at The Venue in Borehamwood
The Mayor of Hertsmere worked up a sweat as he opened a newly refurbished gym.
Councillor Paul Morris was among the first to try out Beaumont’s gym at The Venue in Elstree Way in Borehamwood, as part of a fun day to celebrate its reopening.
The facility, which is managed by Hertsmere Leisure and Hertsmere Borough Council, has just undergone a £250,000 refit.
Members of the public enjoyed gym challenges, taster sessions for exercise classes, face painting, and eyebrow shaping at the event on Sunday.
Councillor Morris joined guests including Councillor Brenda Batten and members of the public in trying out some of the 80 pieces of equipment.
These include the latest range called Human Sport, which is designed to reflect human body mechanics.
Children also enjoyed The Venue’s soft play area and swimming for £1 and there were membership offers and prizes to win throughout the day.
Hertsmere Leisure’s area manager for Borehamwood Mark Young said: “The opening went very well.
“It was a fantastic way for us to also take the opportunity to thank the local community for their continued support and their patience while we were carrying out the refurbishment.
“We had some very positive comments from members and non members alike on the new gym and training areas and it will be a great addition to our facilities.”
The community day coincided with the opening of a new salon at The Venue called The Cut Hut, which offers boys' and men’s haircuts.
