New gym to be unveiled at The Venue in Elstree Way this weekend
A leisure centre will hold an open day to celebrate the unveiling of its newly refurbished gym this weekend.
The Mayor of Hertsmere Councillor Paul Morris will cut the ribbon on the new gym at The Venue in Borehamwood on Sunday.
Afterwards, members of the public can take part in a range of free activities including fitness challenges, face painting and taster sessions for exercise classes.
A salon, the Cut Hut, will also be opening in the leisure centre in Elstree Way and will be offering free eyebrow shaping.
The facility at the leisure centre in Elstree Way has been closed since the middle of last month while it underwent a £250,000 revamp.
Managed by Hertsmere Leisure in partnership with Hertsmere Borough Council, it contains 80 pieces of state-of-the-art equipment.
This includes the latest range of equipment called Human Sport, which is designed to reflect human body mechanics.
The former free weights area has been converted into a new stretching area and a new weights area has been built at the far end of the gym.
Area Manager Mark Young said: “The open day will be a celebration and a thank you to the local community for their continued support.
“We have a wonderful new gym with fantastic state-of-the-art workout stations and we are delighted that the Mayor of Hertsmere has agreed to officially open the new facility.”
