Environment Agency discover source of stench plaguing Borehamwood Radlett, Shenley and Aldenham
The source of the stink that has been plaguing Hertsmere has been discovered.
The Environment Agency has revealed the vile stench permeating Borehamwood, Radeltt, Shenley and Aldenham has been caused by farmers spreading manure in fields.
A spokeswoman for the organisation said: “This sort of thing is perfectly normal.
“It’s coming from farms in general, we can’t trace it to a particular one.
“Muck spreading is later than usual this year because of the snow we had in March and April.”
