The leader of the Rotary Club of Elstree and Borehamwood was given a fond farewell celebration to mark the end of his year in office.
Eighty guests paid tribute to Reverend Richard Leslie who will stand down as leader of the club at the end of the month.
In honour of the work he has done throughout the year a celebration barbecue was held at Schopwick House in Elstree last Thursday.
Tony Feasy, a fundraiser of the Peace Hospice, presented a cheque for £10,000 which was raised at the club’s charity golf day in May.
Guests including the former mayor of Hertsmere, Councillor Pat Strack and the new mayor of Elstree and Borehamwood, Councillor Clive Butchins, were entertained with singing as well as music on the piano accordion.
