Time is running out for people to sign up to a ‘once in a lifetime trip’ to the borough's twin town near Paris.
People have the chance to go to visit Fontenay-aux-Roses during the May bank holiday weekend on a trip organised by the Elstree & Borehamwood Twin Town Association.
During their two-day stay, people will have the chance to see Paris by night – including the Eiffel Tower, the Chateau de Versailles and Montmatre.
So far, 40 people are scheduled to go on the trip, but chairman of the association, Martine Eni is calling on more to sign up.
She said: “I am very excited about it all. I am just hoping everything goes smoothly.
“Once we are there it will be so worth it. It is a good way to learn something about another culture without having to spend a fortune.
“Fontenay-aux-Roses is a very cute town and people will get the chance to learn about some of the history there.
“It is also about education, history and enjoyment.”
Borehamwood Community Choir will also be attending the trip, where they will sing at a special dinner at a Moroccan restaurant to mark the end of their stay.
They will also have the chance to meet the Mayor in his chambers at the town hall and take part in the town’s annual carnival celebrations.
The cost of the trip will be £150, which includes travel, bed and breakfast and an entrance trip to Versailles. People have until April 15 to sign up.
