This week’s milder weather is not expected to last and council gritters will be out in force throughout Borehamwood and Potters Bar preparing for the worst.
Hertfordshire County Council is readying its salt spreading trucks – bad news for those hoping that spring may be on its way.
Stuart Pile, cabinet member for highways and transport, said: “We’re expecting freezing temperatures and possible snow in the next week, so please be extra careful if you're out and about.
“The gritters will be out to help keep main transport routes moving, covering 2,500km of roads on each gritting run."
