Music by Vivaldi, Handel and Mozart was heard at a strings masterclass for talented young musicians from Aldenham School on Wednesday.

Pupils joined professional musician Alison Wyatt and were given feedback on their solo performances of various pieces of music.

One pupil, 12 year old Abigail James, was fortunate enough to use a £2,000 Paul Voigt violin donated to the school by former pupil Richard Schooley.

She said: "This is my first full size violin, I’m lucky enough to have been lent it by my school and have written to Mr Schooley to say thank you for donating it.”

An invited audience later heard a recital of Tchaikovsky, Bach and Wieniawski.
