Reminder for elderly and disabled people to renew free bus passes

Elderly or disabled bus passengers are being urged to renew their free passes before the cut-off point.

Councillor Stuart Pile, cabinet member for highways and transport at Hertfordshire County Council, encouraged people to renew their free passes before they expire at the end of March.

He said: “Many people tell me that free bus travel helps them get the most out of life and remain independent, and we are working hard to ensure your new pass arrives within 20 days from the time that we receive your application.

“With so many bus passes due to expire in March it is important to renew your pass at the earliest opportunity and continue to benefit from free bus travel after March 2013.”

People can sign up by visiting www.hertsdirect.org/buspass and forms can be picked up from libraries, council offices and tourist information centres.
