Winter road repairs nearly complete

Work costing £1.5million is almost complete to fix potholes and cracks caused by freezing weather conditions.

Hertfordshire Country Council recruited contractor Ringway to fill nearly 320 potholes in the first three weeks of February, with more expected to be repaired in the coming weeks.

To date, 15 roads have been resurfaced, with 26 more to be fixed before the end of March, if weather permits.

Ringway divisional manager Matthew Kelley said: “The entire Ringway team has been very focused on keeping the main roads open in the county during the recent extreme weather.

“Our focus has now shifted to our winter recovery programme to address the damage caused on the county’s roads by the rain, ice and snow.”
