A pupil from Borehamwood has been chosen to represent the area as part of the national youth parliament.

James Gasper, 16, was voted to become a deputy member of the UK Youth Parliament (MYPs) following elections held across Hertfordshire.

The Bushey Academy student is one of 12 young people from across the county to secure votes from their peers to get elected.

Those who took part were supported by Hertfordshire County Council’s Youth Connexions service which helped the candidates draw up manifestos for website channelmogo.org where young people voted.

As members of the youth parliament members will be the voice of young people in the county and will talk with councillors about issues their peers may have.
