A blood donor session in memory of a four-year-old boy will take place in Borehamwood this month.

The Joely Bear Appeal was founded in memory of Joel Renak, who died in November 1994 after a year-long battle with a rare form of liver cancer.

The appeal will host its 55th blood donor session with NHS Blood & Transplant on Sunday March 17.

Anyone from the age of 17-years-old can attend the session from 9.30am to 12.30pm and from 2pm to 4.30pm at Borehamwood and Elstree Synagogue in Croxdale Road.

There will be a crèche for young children as well as a bouncy castle and face painting.
