Campaigners will be taking a petition to the streets this weekend in an attempt to stop a rail freight terminal being built near Radlett.

Residents who want to sign the petition against the Helioslough proposal in Park Street still have time to show their support at St Albans market from 9.30am tomorrow.

According to members of the Elstree & Borehamwood Greenebelt Association, the proposals would cause “mammoth” traffic jams.

So far, the petition has collected 7,714 signatures and the closing date to sign is March 31.
