More train chaos for First Capital Connect passengers

Commuters heading to work in central London face more train chaos this morning after major damage to overhead power lines at Radlett yesterday.

First Capital Connect said the damage has meant fewer trains are able to run on some lines.

Train services running on the Luton to St Pancras line - which goes through Elstree and Borehamwood, Hendon, Mill Hill and Cricklewood - may be cancelled or delayed up to 30 minutes at short notice.

The damage to lines - which happened after a freight train pulled down the overhead wiring - means only two of the four tracks on this route in either direction are open.

The disruption is expected to continue until 6am tomorrow.

Other rail companies are carrying customers via any reasonable route until further notice.

The departure boards show trains running to London but they are not appearing. Only one came past in an hour so I gave up. There were plenty northbound.
