Rotarians were thrilled when two special guests dropped in on their weekly meeting last week.
Eve Conway-Ghazi, the first female District Governor for the Rotary Club, went to the Elstree and Borehamwood Rotary Club’s meeting in Arkley on Thursday.
She was pleased to hear about the “tremendous contribution” the club has made to the area since it was first launched in 1942.
At the meeting, the group also handed a cheque for £180 to Reverend Dominic McKenna, to go towards a new food bank, which will be opening at St Teresa’s Church, Brook Road, next month.
Club president, Richard Leslie said: “It was a joy to have our two visitors on the same day.
“It was good for our District Governor to learn about one of avenues of service and it was good that Fr Dominic heard about the world wide efforts of Rotary.”
