Red Cross, Hertfordshire, to hold Dance: Make your Move at Ark Theatre, Borehamwood

There will be no excuse for dancing with two left feet after a summer festival was handed a grant.

Charity Red Cross, in Hertfordshire, is holding Dance - Make your Move in June at the Ark Theatre, in Thrift Farm Lane, Borehamwood.

Councillor Morris Bright gave £550 from his locality budget to help make sure the event is a success.

He said: “The charity is known for promoting human awareness. This local project affords an opportunity for the young in our community to take part in a fun and enjoyable experience.

“At the same time, they will learn about the difficulties faced by others. I hope lots of young people in Borehamwood will take part.”

The aim is to bring young people together in a celebration of dance, and children will be given the chance to create a dance routine to reflect the work done by the Red Cross.

They will chose a topic - anything from first aid to child soldiers and the earthquake and Tsunami in Japan - and will show the audience what they have learnt through dance.

The festival will be held on Saturday, June 15 for children aged four to 18 of all dancing abilities.
