Children gathered in the playground to watch a pilot land his helicopter in the field at their school yesterday.
Pupils waved and cheered as the Herts Air Ambulance landed at Cowley Hill School, Winstre Road, Borehamwood, in the afternoon.
The nursery and year one children, who have been learning about ‘people who help us’ enjoyed a talk from the pilot about the role the air ambulance plays in saving lives.
Neighbouring Woodlands School also watched the landing from their school playground.
