A teenage musical prodigy is in the running to become the Young Musician of the Year.
Olivier Assor, of Elstree, is one of six Immanuel College students taking part in the London heats of the Emunah Young Musician of the Year 2013.
The 14-year-old, who plays the guitar, will be singing the Anthony Newley song Feeling Good as well as Shewkey’s Vehi Sheomdah.
Oliver said: “I just love the feeling of playing music and learning new songs and then performing them.
“The songs I have chosen are really powerful songs. Feeling Good was one of the first songs I learnt. I would love to get famous by getting a record deal or singing in a band.”
Oliver will be taking part in the regional heats at the Royal Academy of Music on February 3 for the chance to make it to the final a month later.
The winner’s school will win £500 to spend on musical instruments.
