Those who woke up expecting to see a blanket of snow cover the roads were left surprised this morning.

According to the Met Office, snow was expected to start falling in Borehamwood from 6am - but so far, it has not snowed.

Forecasters are now saying there is a 60 per cent chance light snow will start at around 9am, and continue to well into the evening.

Temperatures are set to plummet to -3c but figures on the Met Office website show this will “feel like” a chilly -9c.

No school closures have been reported and First Capital Connect services through Borehamwood appear to be running on time.
