A picture of a man police are trying to trace in connection to an attempted robbery in a betting shop has been released.

A man walked into Ladbrokes, in Shenley Road, and threatened a member of staff with what appeared to be a weapon wrapped in a plastic bag.

He demanded the cashier to hand over money – but when his request was refused, he left the building empty handed and made off in an unknown direction.

No weapon was actually seen during this incident and nobody was injured during the incident, which took place on Friday at 2pm.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police on the non emergency number, or by phoning Crimestoppers anonymously.
